Introduction
A Digital Representation of a Unique Venue
OOZI, a stylish new event space in Trnava, needed a website that would capture the unique atmosphere and character of their venue. The website needed to serve as a digital representation of the space, enticing potential clients and event attendees while providing essential information about rentals and upcoming events.
My role
As the sole designer on this project, I was responsible for the entire design process, from conducting competitor research and ideating concepts to creating the final UI/UX design. I collaborated closely with the client to ensure the website aligned with their vision and brand identity.
Process
Research, Ideation, and Design
My design process began with thorough competitor research to understand the online landscape of event spaces and identify best practices. I then delved into ideation, exploring various design concepts that would reflect the unique atmosphere of OOZI. This involved translating the client's existing design manual, which was based on the venue's interior design and printed materials, into a digital format.
The Challenge
Finding the Sweet Spot Between Bold and Minimal
The main challenge was finding the right balance between boldness and simplicity. The initial design concept was deemed "too much" by the client, requiring me to refine the approach while adhering to the brand guidelines. Additionally, I had to seamlessly integrate the style of their printed materials into a user-friendly website design.
Solution
A Striking Design with Industrial Flair
To achieve the desired balance, I opted for a striking black and yellow color scheme, complemented by black and white photography that evoked an industrial aesthetic. This approach captured the essence of the venue's interior while maintaining a clean and modern look. The website features prominent calls to action for event bookings and ticket purchases, ensuring a seamless user experience.
Results
A Website that Captures the Essence of OOZI
The final website serves as a professional and engaging online presence for OOZI, effectively showcasing the venue's unique character and providing visitors with all the necessary information. The design successfully captures the essence of the physical space, creating a cohesive brand experience across both online and offline channels.
